The Information Systems Branch was formed in November 2005 in a merger of the Modernization and Systems Development Branches. ISB's work is focused on collecting and processing environmental data; making those data available for use by forecasters, analysts, and researchers; and providing means for users to share information among themselves and disseminate it to customers.
The Branch comprises four sections and two areas of special focus:
