Assessment:

Ported to linux (ad hoc, no show stoppers, add'l
testing may be required)

Need to run each process with the "strace" command to verify what files
are opened/closed
Need to get a profile of metrics
There is a significant verification effort needed for decoders. The
suggested target is based
on experience that there seem to be no show stoppers when running on
linux test systems
at FSL.
