In OB6, some locally created datasets will be available. In particular,
locally created and edited grids for the MPE model. These grids are
irregularly produced with respect to time. Discussed in this UIWG were
accessing the MPE grids through the D2D user interface. Currently the
MPE grids are accessed by selecting the following on the Regional,
States(s) or WFO scale:
NCEP/Hydro > Hydro > QPE > 1hr MPE Precip >
Local Contour
or
NCEP/Hydro > Hydro > QPE > 1hr MPE Precip > Local Image
or through the Volume Browser
The following points were made:
- Why do we have both an image and a contour on the menu when the
user can select the contour and with a right click on the product
legend change the contour to an image? This is inconsistent with the
other products on the D2D interface.
- Will there be other products of this type on the menu at some
point? If so, we need to rethink if both contour and image be placed on
the menu.
- Group decided to move the Local Contour and Local Image up one
level with a blue label followed by the menu options, eliminating one
level of menu cascade, looking like this:
Multi-Sensor Precip Estimates
MPE 1hr Contour
MPE 1hr Image
- Access of the MPE data through the Volume Browser can be made by
selecting the following on the Regional, State(s) or WFO scale:
Sources: MPE
Fields: Sfc/2D >
Precip
Note that the Planes field is automatically filled
in with Surface.
The user may now load the product, To display the image, use the middle
mouse button and click on the entry in the Product Selection List and
then select load.
- The displayed product domain does not match the scale. The
geographic information for this product is from outside and does not
user the D2D tables. This is also exhibited in other products in the
D2D interface.
- Style entry should be changed to allow the '0' values to be
delineated from 'No data'
