From this menu you can open the Volume Browser (refer to Section 3.1 The Volume Browser) or the Product Maker (refer to Section 3.2 Product Maker). Both options provide access to gridded data, and both allow you to create and generate products on demand.

You can also select model Families, Four-Panel Family products, Comparison Families, and Surface Families. Families are preselected groups of model data that can be displayed with a single product request. Model availability is scale dependent.

Four-Panel Families consist of four preselected products, or groups of products, each loaded into one of the four panels into which the large display pane is divided. In the case of Four-Panel Families, eight fields from a model family are displayed, two per panel. One field is displayed as an image, the other as a contoured graphic.

Comparison Families allow the user to overlay preselected models for comparison at 500 mb heights and mean sea level (MSL) pressure.

Surface Families display forecast surface products.
