4.4 Editing Text Products

Editing requirements for D2D are accommodated by the use of an on-line WordPerfect™-like Text Editor. You can perform simple editing by selecting the Enter Editor Button in the Text Window Control Bar.

Once in the Text Editor, several buttons in the Menu Bar appear in subdued text, while new editing commands are activated in the File, Edit, and Options pull-down menus. In addition, a new Control Bar, containing editing functions, appears, as shown in Exhibit 4.4-1.

Exhibit 4.4-1. The Text Display Window in Editing Mode

Notes:

• When a text product is loaded in the Editor, the Header information is separated from the body text. These lines cannot be edited.

• Keyboard Focus determines which Text Window or which component (menu, entry box, scroll bar, etc.) of a Text Window receives the keyboard input. The Text Display is set up to allow only one Text Window (or component of a Text Window) to have focus at a time. The D2D Text Display is set up with Explicit Focus which requires you to explicitly select which window or component receives the Keyboard Focus. To obtain Keyboard Focus of a window, move the cursor into a Text Window and click with Mouse Button 1. Notice that the border of the window (or window component) with the focus is somewhat highlighted.

• Refer to Tables 4.4.2-1 through 4.4.2-4 in Section 4.4.2 for keyboard shortcuts. Refer to Exhibit 2.1.1-2 for a display of the keyboard.
