To obtain a better view of the hodograph, you need to zoom in about six times over the hodograph. The quickest way to do this is to open the pop-up menu (using Mouse Button 3) over the hodograph and slide the mouse pointer down the menu to the Zoom cascading menu and choose 6.3X. Press Mouse Button 2 to pan to the preferred view of the hodograph. Exhibit 6.4-1 illustrates a hodograph in the editable state.

To add a point to the hodograph, type in the desired pressure, direction, and speed values in the Skew-T Controls Dialog Box and click the Add Point to Hodograph menu button. It is not possible with this version of the IST to add a point to the hodograph interactively because you cannot specify a pressure level directly on the hodograph.
However, you can modify and delete points on the hodograph using the mouse. To modify a point, use the drag and drop method: press and hold Mouse Button 1 on the point, drag the point to the new location, and release Mouse Button 1. Delete points by placing the mouse pointer over an existing data point and clicking Mouse Button 2. You can also move the entire hodograph using Mouse Button 1.
Click the "Lift Parcel" menu button in the Skew-T Controls Dialog Box to view the changes in the hodograph parameters (helicity, storm motion, etc.).
